It is hard to imagine that I will be arriving in Shanghai in less than 11 hours. It has been a long journey so far, and I still have another 9 hour flight remaining. I am hoping to sleep through this last one to combat jet lag and to adjust my sleep schedule to the local time (12 hours ahead of US Eastern). I have been in Helsinki for most of the day and the airport here does not have much to offer. I have never seen more expensive airport food and beverage in my life! There are also a lot of high end shops catering to Europeans. There definitely are not many Americans around. It has been fun listening to accents though! Highlight of layover: Finnish chocolate! I bought a large bar and I will ration it off as I crave chocolate throughout my trip. My next plane is an airbus with nice amenities and supposedly good food, but I will probably just sleep through the whole thing. On the way to Finland, I saw ice fields and mountains from the window, which was very neat. Next post will be from China!
